What is your family’s water safety plan?

We know that it’s a process:

At SWIM S’COOL we want you to know that we believe learning to swim is not a single event, rather a process, where skills are developed at a gradual pace. Skills start simple, then become more complex, and are learned through building trust, positive reinforcement, play, and familiar patterns of movement. Foundational skills are learned in the right order and result in swimming success for life!

we Play with a purpose:

We know that learning through play is the most effective way to teach children…and it’s more fun! Children use play to investigate, explore, mimic, and learn new things. At SWIM S’COOL we use play as a tool for learning through songs, games, and silliness!

Playing with purpose results in happy children, who want to come to class. Our students learn faster because they are having fun! Bonus: you won’t have to fight with your child to get them to swim with us.

safety is #1:

We want to be part of your family’s water safety plan. Do you have one? We work to educate you and your family about how to avoid an accident in or around the water, and teach your children important skills to save their life.

SWIM S'COOL was born when founder Megan Evo Greenwood was teaching swim lessons at a local swim club during her summers in Charlottesville training with the University of Virginia swim team. She noticed that there was an increasing demand for quality swim instruction and by the end of her first summer she had swim lessons scheduled back to back to back for weeks on end.

The following summer her schedule was so booked up with lessons that she had to find a teammate to help her cover the demand. She finally decided to create her own curriculum using what she knew from studying special education and years of teaching swimming to children.

It quickly became a dream to share what she knew and loved about teaching swimming with others. In the summer of 2009 SWIM S'COOL had its debut and has been growing exponentially since!
